Fall is in the air, and Columbus is packed with family-friendly festivals, fairs, and fun outings to kick off the season. Whether you’re looking for a local walk with fellow moms, a cozy drive-in movie night, or a big community celebration, there’s something for everyone. Here are a few events and activities worth adding to your September calendar:
The Mom Walk Collective x Mabē

Come & enjoy free coffee for the first 100 moms, the chance to win a free carrier from Mabē, and a walk led by our local ambassadors! We can’t wait to see you! The first 30 moms to arrive will receive a free goodie bag!
Columbus Oktoberfest
September 5-7, 2025. Dust off your lederhosen (or just bring your appetite) for one of Columbus’ biggest fall traditions! Held at the Ohio Expo Center/Ohio State Fairgrounds, Oktoberfest is full of live music, dancing, kids’ activities, and of course – bratwurst and pretzels. Don’t miss the Kinderplatz, a family area with inflatables and crafts.
Harvest Fair at Columbus Commons
September 6, 2025. 12-4 PM. This free downtown event is the perfect city-meets-country celebration. Enjoy fall-themed fun for everyone. Wander through Harvest Fair and explore the barn with farm animals, fall-themed inflatable games, face painting, a pumpkin patch, apple cider and so much more.
Delaware County Fair
September 13-20, 2025. A true small-town fair experience just north of Columbus! The Delaware County Fair has rides, games, and plenty of fair food, but it’s best known for horse racing – including the famous Little Brown Jug. Whether you’re going for the animals, the grandstand shows, or just the funnel cake, it’s worth the drive.
Hilliard Fall Festival
September 14, 2025. 1-4 PM. Bring the family for an afternoon of fun celebrating the autumn season at Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park! The festival will feature games, live music from Simba Jordan, pumpkin decorating, and food trucks!
Play & Dine at Smash Park Westerville
If the weather turns chilly or you’re looking for a fun evening activity, check out Smash Park in Westerville. This new entertainment destination offers pickleball, duckpin bowling, arcade games, and a great menu with shareable bites. It’s a perfect spot for both family fun and parents’ night out.
Catch a Drive-in Movie at South Drive-in Theatre
Take it old-school and enjoy a movie under the stars! South Drive-In is one of the last drive-ins in Ohio and a perfect fall night activity. Pack blankets, grab snacks at the concession stand, and settle in for a double feature with the kids.
